August 2022 Jag Blast
Can you believe the first day of school is almost here? The PTO is busy making plans for the 2022-2023 school year! By now you should have received a letter in the mail from our principal, Dr. Brewer, with information and dates for the upcoming school year. As Dr. Brewer shared, the theme for the 2022-2023 school year is “MAUE: Back to the Future,” and the PTO is excited to support our students, teachers, and staff as they travel through time!
To do this, we need your help! We hope you’ll consider joining the PTO, either online or by completing a membership form at Meet the Teacher on August 2nd. Your membership donation helps the PTO fund a variety of programs and special events for our students and staff throughout the year.
Volunteers Needed:
We’re looking for volunteers to serve on several PTO committees. This is a great way to get to know other parents and utilize your gifts and talents at the same time! We currently need volunteers to help with the following committees:
· Art
· Decorations
· Fundraising
· Grandparents Day
· Grounds
· Jag Store
· Library
· Staff Appreciation
· Yearbook (designers & photographers)
If you’re interested in helping on a committee, please email mauepto@gmail.com. We can provide more information about each committee and also connect you to the committee’s Chair(s).
Staying Informed:
Whether or not you join the PTO or serve on a committee, we want to keep you up to date with PTO happenings! We plan to post monthly Jag Blast newsletters on the PTO website and will also email the newsletter, as well as other Jag Blast updates, throughout the year. If you’d like to receive the Jag Blast PTO emails, please submit your email address via the PTO website. (*PTO members will submit email addresses on the membership form and do not need to submit your email address again.)
Another great way to keep up with PTO happenings and announcements is to “like” the MAUE PTO Facebook page.
Our first PTO meeting will be held at 7:30 a.m. in the cafeteria on Thursday, August 11. We are excited to be able to meet in person again this year and hope to see you there!
